Sakae Sushi
Posted by Mindy | Under Restaurant, Sakae Sushi, sushi Tuesday Feb 1, 2011I used to think sushi restaurants were mostly created equal. I’m a fan of sushi and everything else on the all-you-can-eat menu, but for the most part, they were united in their deliciousness.
Then I ate at Sakae.
Located on Mount Pleasant south of Eglinton, Sakae is a sushi lover’s dream. Their sashimi is the freshest I have ever tasted; I couldn’t get enough of the butterfish and salmon.
Their AYCE menu is well-rounded, and the a la carte options are diverse as well. Their business hours are a bonus; most places are open for lunch and dinner and closed in between, but Sakae opens at 11:30am on weekdays and 12:00pm on weekends, and stays open right through to 10:00pm. This is pretty useful for midday sushi cravings.
AYCE is reasonable at $16.99 on weekdays and $18.99 on weekends. I encourage you to try it. And say hello to the girl sitting at the table in the corner enjoying her tea, sake, and sashimi- that will be me.

I want to go. After a 40 week ban on sushi, I need to binge on it. So yummy!
